This is the famous beach gym known for workouts in your swim wear while using their Fred Flinstone inspired workout equipment. I mean everything I touched was made from bamboo, wood or stone giving heavier weight to adjust to and felt so dope to lift!
I was staying in Cancun Mexico, but knew I was going to find a way to travel to Tulum for this anticipated workout. All of my fit inspos have been viewed on Instagram at Tulum Jungle Gym and I said to myself I had to go and be next up!
_______
First off the communication messages via Instagram between the gym staff while I was in Mexico were sooooo speedy, informative and polite. I asked many questions and received responses that helped me get there without any frustrations. Once I arrived the staff were very friendly and the place was very chill and so easy to vibe in while working out. If you are in Tulum and love to workout this is a must stop and visit.
______
How I traveled From Cancun to Tulum:
1. Take the R1 Tulum city bus ($1) to ADO Bus station (about 20 minute bus ride)
2. At the ADO bus station purchase a ticket from Cancun to Tulum ($7). The ADO bus was leaving when I arrived so, I took the next available bus which was Mayab. They all will get you there.
3. To use the bathroom in the bus station was $6 (pesos) my fiance said it was filthy, so yeah.
4. THE RIDE ON THIS BUS IS 2-3 HOURS DEPENDING ON TIME OF DAY! So come prepared with snacks, water, headphones etc.
5. I had on my GPS once I knew we were in Tulum and had the Jungle Gym address up and running to see how far I was.
6. Once the bus made a turn that was taking me away from the gym. I got off the bus and got a cab. The cab going to the gym was $21 & the one leaving gym tried to charge $30 but was negotiated to $25.
*FYI:
-The roads are very narrow, bumpy and full of holes in the road if you do decide to rent a bike or rent a car. (Slow and cautious)
-The Mayab bus I took going had no bathroom on it. The ADO bus coming back had a bathroom and was way nicer and cleaner.
-Try to negotiate the cabs or they will try to hustle your pockets.
-Carry your charger on you, since it is a long distance ride somewhere unfamiliar. You need battery!
-Do NOT be afraid to use a Spanish translator if needed to communicate to anyone anywhere!
-Good Luck it wasn't so bad, Long ride, but not bad and another experience to check off✔
-Enjoy the gym when you arrive because it is worth the wait to get there!
